Christmas greetings from Strängnäs

Dear friends,

Best Christmas greetings from the twin town committee in STRÄNGNÄS/MARIEFRED. Once again contacts and communications with you have been very rare due to the Corona pandemic. This is very sad but we hope that we can meet again, if not next year, then the year 2023 when Strängnäs prepare for a big 500 years celebration in June. All our twin towns are more than welcome to share the event with us in Sweden. Friendship and contacts are very important for our citizens in Europe and also overseas. 

The twin town committee has produced a short video clip to celebrate the upcoming Christmas. It shows a bit of the Christmas market in the city of Mariefred, which is an old part of the municipality.  There is another glimpse of the old castle Gripsholm from the sixteenth century. On the video one can follow the committee chairperson Catharina De Geer and other board members on a short walk from the Christmas market up to the castle. Enjoy the three minute walk with us!

Greetings also from the other five committees. FÖRENINGEN NORDEN and the chairperson Birgitta Wennerberg send her best wishes to the municipalities SALO and SAUVO in Finland, to LEIKANGER in Norway and RIBE in Denmark. The committee for the Baltic countries and Poland and the chairman Anders Cassne sends greetings to KANDAVA in Latvia, to SAKU in Estonia and to OLSZTYNEK in Poland. Greetings to all friends in RATZEBURG in Germany from the committee chairman Göte Andersson and to RHEINSBERG from the committee chairperson Agneta Berger.

Overseas in Africa we have, in Tanzania our friends in SIMANJIRO-LOIBORSOIT greeted by the committee chairperson Anne-Sofie Ölander and board member Ing Britt Lindgren.
